CSR activities make firebreaks to prevent the expanding of forest fires.

Nowadays, the PM2.5 dust problem in Thailand continues to increase, also ranked 3rd in Asia with the most PM2.5 values.  PM 2.5 dust problems can arise from many factors, whether it is transportation, power generation, industrial manufacturing, construction, etc.  Another factor needs to mentioned is wildfires/forest fires.  Although wildfires can occur naturally due to lightning, branches friction, chemical reactions from sunlight in the barren landscape area.  But 90% of wildfires in Thailand are caused by human burning. Most of them are burned to make a forest harvesting path.  Burn to stimulate germination or foliation of industrial crops (cash crops) and burn for agriculture. Sometimes it cannot control the fires, resulting in extensive fires. These problems also affect a wide range. They also cause air pollution and lead to subsequent health problems.

On February 18, 2023, NRS LOGISTICS (THAILAND) CO., LTD. organized a CSR event in collaborate with Wildlife Ranger at the Chiang Dao Wildlife Sanctuary to prevent widespread damage from wildfires.  Wildlife Rangers have informed that the firebreaks area must have a width of 4-8 meters, it will be possible to prevent the expanding of the spark which will be become the flames.  The height of the flames can cross the firebreaks, expanding and become to the firestorm. This event also makes employees aware of the importance of the forest and the environment.  Participating in forest conservation, including fostering environmental awareness and contributing to reducing the degradation of ecosystems.

In addition to protecting against wildfires, we have also planted “Yang-Na” tree to increase oxygen in the air and help reduce future pollution.

The problem of dust is not recent problem, and it will not eliminate problem easily. Therefore, NRS LOGISTICS (THAILAND) CO., LTD. will continue to contribute to the reduction and prevention of air pollution and to the sustainability of the ecological system in the future.

Thank you to the Wildlife Ranger and team of the Chiang Dao Wildlife Sanctuary, and all concerned.
